HEAVY DUTY TRUCK MECHANIC (Columbus, MS) HEAVY DUTY TRUCK MECHANIC (Columbus, MS) SUMMARY Perform all technical duties of a technician in service and repair of a heavy duty truck trailer and may also work on overhauling and maintaining diesel engines and automatic transmissions used to operate trucks, generators, and other equipment by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Service and repaid body work, floor work, suspension and brakes. The technician may also work on the following: Inspect engine or transmission for conformance to standard. Diagnose cause of non conformance. Identify corrective action necessary to correct non conformance. Diagnose and repair basic equipment wiring. Obtains parts from stock. Cleans tools and working area. Paper work and/or R/O documentation. Basic computer literacy and good verbal communication skills Performs other routine duties. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical/vocational school; and/or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid state driver's license required. Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
